ANGIRA
Cabernet Sauvignon
ANGIRA, the Greek word for anchor was the symbol of the great diplomat, statesman and ethnarch — Eleftherios Venizelos. He was a leader in Crete’s independence from the Ottoman Empire. Our grandfather served as his bodyguard and hence witnessed Venizelos’ greatness firsthand becoming a loyal supporter to the point that he would campaign on his behalf yelling through the streets and at public gatherings ANGIRA! ANGIRA! Soon our family’s nickname became ANGIRA.
As a tribute to our forefather and to the Cretan hero, Eleftherios Venizelos, we present to you our 2019 Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon expressing notes of black cherry, currents, with hints of black pepper, licorice, vanilla and violets.

2020 LABRYS 75% Cab/25% Syrah
The “LABRYS”, meaning a double headed ax, is the most sacred symbol of Minoan Culture. It is associated with the worship of mother earth and is only accompanied by female goddesses. To find such an axe in the hands of a Minoan woman would therefore indicate that she held a position of authority.
We offer this selection as a tribute to mother earth and to the strong women in our family. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Syrah, bringing to your pallet everything from smoke, bacon, herbs, red and black fruits, white and black pepper, to floral violet.

DASOS
Mourvedre
Our Estate Mourvédre standing alone can be enjoyed as a meaty full bodied wine. With dried cranberries and red cherries on the palate, this grape brings out earthy aromas of leather and mushrooms... much like a forest floor.
Boutz Cellars brings to you our ΔΑΣΟΣ (Dasos)- the Greek word for forest. True to form, this wine... just like the forest, has a tendency to portray a feeling of curiosity and life. Our Mourvedre is showing it’s characteristics as the varietal that it is — rustic, wild and made by BOUTZ from vine to wine.

2020 TAVROS
Petite Sirah
The Minoans of Ancient Crete recognized the BULL or “TAVROS” as a symbol of power and strength. As a test of bravery and to demonstrate superior skill, they engaged in the activity of bull leaping. The leapers were young and beautiful, the bull ferocious and powerful — perhaps an ancient expression of beauty and the beast.
Our 2020 Petite Sirah is much like “TAVROS” as it is powerful and hardy, offering flavors of black pepper, blueberries, and blackberries. This wine pairs well with meats and stews and almost anything you would cook on the grill. Enjoy the wine now or let it age as its structure and balance will hold for years to come.

Rosé
This famous Greek artwork depicts two bees working together to deposit a drop of honey to their honeycomb, much like the teamwork of our family and friends at Boutz Cellars in producing this special Rosé.
We hand picked Grenache & Mourvédre from our estate vines to create a crisp and bright flavor with notes of honey, apricot and peach. Enjoy this wine with grilled salmon, veggie skewers on the barbi, soft cheeses or on its own on a warm sunny day. Serve chilled for your optimum enjoyment.

The stoic Kri-Kri is a powerful symbol of the island of Crete, Greece, where they scale the steep mountainsides with grace and strength. We’ve combined the spirit of the Kri-Kri with the spirit of Crete - Tsikoudia.
In our culture, Tsikoudia is more than a mere beverage. It brings people together with its clean and simple, yet rustic flavor. It is perfect as a welcoming drink for your guests and after a meal.
